Ingredients
- Lauki (Bottle Gourd) – 1 cup
- Milk – 1 cup
- Khoya – 100 gms
- Ghee (clarified butter) – 2 tablespoons
- Sugar – 1 cup or as per your taste
- Mixed Dry Fruits – 1 tablespoon
- Green cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Method
1 – Peel off the outer skin and finely grate the lauki (bottle gourd). Squeeze out excess water from shredded bottle gourd.
2 – Heat a deep pan on medium flame. Add ghee, after ½ (half) minute add dry fruits and stir it well till they change the color (light pink). Remove and keep aside.
3 – Add grated lauki or doodhi to the same pan and sauté on slow medium for 5 minutes.
4 – Add milk and stir well. Cover with lid and let it cook on medium flame. After 5 minutes add khoya and dry fruits and mix well. Simmer the heat and cook till all the milk has reduced. Add sugar and cardamom powder and stirring all the while till the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickness, about 5-7 minutes.
5 – Turn off the gas and take it out in serving bowl. Serve delicious lauki or doodhi ka halwa.
