How to make chili flakes at home
- First, Heat a pan over low heat. Add the dry red chilies to the pan and dry roast it while continuously stirring. Roast until the chilies turns light brown or let the chilies dry in a well-ventilated area, preferably outside in the sun.
- Let the chilies cool completely. Then, grind in a blender or food processor until they’re flakey.
- Transfer the freshly ground chili flakes to an airtight container. Store them in a cool, dark place to maintain their flavour and heat.
